Description

Released in March 2009, the album Yes marks the triumphant return of the electronic dance band Pet Shop Boys. Before the success of Yes, the band was best known for their hit song "West in Girls? off of their 1996 album, Bilingual. Shortly after the release of their latest album, the band found themselves back on top once again with release of the singles "Love etc" and "Did You See Me Coming" rocketing the album to the number four spot on the UK charts. Both singles are clearly informed by the band's New Wave roots but also show tinges of the modern ennui so ever present in the best of today's British pop. This is the first record that the band has released on the much celebrated Astralwerks record label. The ninth album released by the group, this is a release aimed at hitting the commercial pop market with broad appeal, but not a single track on the album manages to fall short of the best that fans of the UK super group have been waiting to see once again. Every song is exquisitely mixed and heavy on the dance beats, with styles ranging from somber ballads to flamboyant melodies.

Comments about EMI PET SHOP BOYS - Yes:

What a comeback by the boys that brought us the mega pop hits "west end girls" and "always on my mind" just to name a couple. They not only keep to tradition with the one word titles of their albums but they also keep to tradition when it comes to making good pop songs. Put this one on whilst cleaning the house and you will be guaranteed to get the job done while bopping to the relentless synth beats of "yes". HIghlights: love etc, beautiful people, did you see me coming.
