Channelling raw, unbridled rage through thrash guitars and Max Cavalera’s unmistakable, thunderous roar, Soulfly’s sixth album Conquer shifts from unrelenting precise speed metal to slow brooding doom, offering more light and shade where previous albums have remained full steam ahead.

But from the moment Max Cavalera left Sepultura to form Soulfly, he’s remained prolific. Produced by Max and mixed by Andy Sneap (Machine Head, Arch Enemy), Conquer spans a vehement spectrum. Says Max Cavalera of the album, “After Cavalera Conspiracy, I wanted to write a stronger, uncompromised statement with Soulfly. It’s definitely Soulfly’s most battle-ready record by far. The vibe reminds me of movies like Gladiator and 300.”

Conquer is also available as a limited edition which features three bonus tracks – ‘Mypath’, ‘Sailing On’ and a cover of Marylin Manson’s ‘The Beautiful People’ and a bonus DVD of the band performing live in Warsaw Poland as well as the music video for ‘Inner Spirit’. This is finished off with brand new cover art and a digi pack format, an absolute must for Cavalera’s throng of ardent fans.

Max – and brother Iggor – will be in town with their ‘other’ band Cavalera Conspiracy this September, supporting Judas Priest and providing Soulfly with even more exposure.
