Description
The collaboration stemmed from a mutual appreciation of guitar based rock music. With a strong foundation firmly in place, Climbsyke had made their first, but most important steps to achieving their goal!
Early rehearsal sessions and local gigs gave the band a chance to work on original material and performing live. With a strong following and repertoire of original songs, Climbsyke set to work on recording their self-titled debut studio album in the summer of 2002.
"The band goes all soft on track nine, Better Days, that lifts the end of the album with a quality ballad"
"Their album shows all the hallmarks of these bands and has been well received by record industry buffs"
Exclusive By James Young
Climbsyke, like their name kind of suggests in a funny way, are on their way up. The five-piece band, which has been going for two-and-a-half years, is currently looking to promote their self-titled album and has built up a strong fan base in and around High Wycombe through their gigs.
The lads all from around the High Wycombe area employ some Iron Maiden riffs and Bruce Dickinson vocal sounds in their rock style.
The band lists their influences as Guns n' Roses, Extreme, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, A, Rage Against the Machine, Van Halen, and Ozzy Osbourne.
And their album shows all the hallmarks of these bands and has been well received by record industry buffs.
That is understandable when listening to it with its classic rock, Pleasure Cruise, and more up-to-the-minute punk sounds, Ain't My Bag, heard on some of the tracks. The band goes all soft on track nine, Better Days, that lifts the end of the album with a quality ballad.
