Description
Paolo Nutini’s future was initially to take over the family’s fish and chip shop, but it was his musical talent that reigned supreme. With his folksy groove to his jazz vocals, the Scottish lad moved to London before he was 18, and after regular performances at a pub in Balham, started getting radio play.
Releasing his first album These Streets in 2006, his new blend of folk and pop granted him and his band The Vipers appearances on Later with Jools Holland, playing in New York’s Carnegie Hall and Glastonbury Festival. His new album ‘Sunny Side Up’ has been one of the best selling UK albums of 2009, and has been number one since the start of 2010.
It’s less polish with a more ‘Unplugged’ sound the songs of swinging energy and country with a twist of soul. The tracks include appearances by trombonist Rico Rodriguez and American DJ ?uestlove spreads out the tracks with outside inspiration.

Comments about WEA/ATLANTIC Paolo Nutini - Sunny Side Up:
I first heard of him on MTV and wrote his name down. Glad to have ordered this CD and I think it will be an album that will grow and grow the more it is played. Enjoyable, fun, easy listening. I love his voice, and his lyrics are interesting. Probably would be appreciated more by an older (30+ audience).

A very original voice and music, but that may be a limiting factor. Not something I can play again and again: nothing sticks out.

Comments about WEA/ATLANTIC Paolo Nutini - Sunny Side Up:
this definately is a quirky cd. At best it remind me of lonnie donniegan's skiffle style of music, from the 60's era, at worst this cd should have subtitles(i am scottish!!). One thing is for sure it is a cheery happy easy going listen ideal for sunny days n gatherings. Far removed from his massive debut though so be warned but worth an addition to your collection for originality

Comments about WEA/ATLANTIC Paolo Nutini - Sunny Side Up:
This album is very different from his first, These Streets. If you weren't told who he is, you may not even pick up that it is the same artist! Because it is so different, and not at all what I was expecting, it did take a while for me to enjoy the songs. But now I love it! There is such variety on this album from the slow, relaxing songs, to the faster, jazzy songs.
