Comments about SBME/EPIC SHAKIRA - She Wolf:

Time for another Shakira album hey? The very original and bonkers Shakira is back with "She Wolf", which is another mix of world music and did-she-just-say-that lyrics ("darling this is no joke, this is lycanthropy" on the title track for example). She enlists The Neptunes to help her cause, which seems to be to make a similar R&B/pop/world music album as Nelly Furtado's "Loose" from 2006, which sadly she never reaches the heights of. The title track is disco-tastic, and "Did It Again" is great too. From there on, however, it never really picks up and Shakira just sounds lost amongst the beats. One track missing from this version is the percussive "Give It Up To Me" which features Lil Wayne, and it would have made a big difference to a just okay Shakira album.

Comments about SBME/EPIC SHAKIRA - She Wolf:

This is in my car CD stacker and is a great listen. Bounces along well and the lyrics, as ever with Shakira, are intriguing and entertaining. It's a slight shift from Laundry Service and Oral Fixation Vol.2 but Shakira fans will love it. First time listeners might need a while to tune in to her on this album but there's good variety and, hey, if you don't like one song, well just hit the 'skip' button. Recommended.
