Description
'Nowhere Boy' is the story of the formative years of John Lennon, as he forms the Quarrymen and then The Beatles. Directed by Sam Taylor-Wood, it stars a wealth of British talent including Kristin Scott Thomas, Anne Marie Duff, David Morrissey and Aaron Johnson as John. Rock & Roll was a huge influence on John, and is a massive part of this film. The audience will come out moved & enlightened by the story, but will also come out humming the songs.
The album features the soundtrack to the film with original tracks recorded for the film by the band who play 'The Quarrymen' characters, (noted on the soundtrack as 'The Nowhere Boys') so the album features unique takes on these songs, as well as original recordings from Elvis, Buddy Holly, Screamin' Jay Hawkins among others. With all The Beatles activity this year with the re-masters and the Rock Band game, this is a timely addition to the collection of any fan. It will also act as fantastic summary of the Rock & Roll genre for the more casual consumer, or film fan.
