The greatest thing about it is that it is Susan's first album. The not so great thing about it is that there's someone else "directing the show" so to speak. I suppose a pre-recorded thing is never going to reflect the passion we saw on stage/youtube. But she didn't get enough input into these songs. Someone else thought they knew better how to put it together, but who has ever put anything musical together better than she did - all by herself - on that fantastic Britain's Got Talent audition? No one that I can recall. Keep the experts out next time Susan.

I love this album. I watched Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent and was impressed by her vocals. The album lives up to expectation. The opening song Wild Horses is sensational, as is the track from Les Miserables. Susan sings some standards and a couple of hymns (How great thou art, Amazing grace)...I suppose the album would be labelled as "Inspirational". Hymns aren't usually my sort of thing but they have their place on this well balanced CD. Susan is joined by a choir on some tracks. Maybe they sound a bit too gospelly for Susan's pure tones and maybe an english choir might have been better, but I quibble over what is a really a great purchase. It is no surprise that the album has been a massive world wide success.
