Press Reviews
It's an album in the classic sense of The Band and Nevermind, beautifully conceived to reflect misgivings about its changing era, and executed with the kind of intelligence that can fool one into thinking it's instinctive The Independent
Chicago's veteran alt-rockers haven't sounded this much fun in ages, their seventh album balancing their easy-going and experimental sides The Observer
Calling the album WILCO suggests they might consider this is a definitive work - they wouldn't be wrong The Times

Comments about WEA/ATLANTIC/NONESUCH Wilco - Wilco (The Album):
This album came out a year ago, and it took me this long to get into it. Having collected Wilco from "Yankee" to "Sky", this was initially a letdown. I've to say, the "camel" cover really had me put off too ! Further samplings brought my senses back, and it is still the good ol' Wilco. Intimate, down-to-earth, melancholy and tuneful, that's their signature. Although not as experimental as "Yankee" nor as ghostly beautiful as "Ghost" nor soothing as "Sky", it is still worth having.
