Description

Two bickering brothers--David (Andy Sirkis, KING KONG) and Peter (Reece Shearsmith, THE LEAGUE OF GENTLEMAN)--come up with an ingenious plan to get rich quick by conspiring to kidnap the daughter of a local mob boss, Arnie. With the help of Arnie's son Andrew (Steve O'Donnell, A KNIGHT'S TALE), the brothers arrive at a deserted country cottage and everything seems to be in place but there are two things they haven't counted on; Tracey (Jennifer Ellison, BROOKSIDE)--their newfound hostage--is determined to put up a fight and their new neighbour turns out to be less than friendly. Paul Andrew Williams' second feature film is significantly different in tone to that of his remarkable, uncompromising debut, LONDON TO BRIGHTON. THE COTTAGE is a highly entertaining horror comedy that has much more in common with the likes of SEVERANCE than his first film. Seasoned comedy performers such as Reece Shearsmith and Steve O'Donnell help to make the humorous sections of the film work well, while Williams directs the gory horror elements with great skill and panache.
