Description
Superheroes have been outlawed and vigilantes have either gone underground or hung up their capes for good. After the Comedian, a one-time superhero now a government agent, is murdered in cold blood, the rest of the super hero community wonders whether or not there's a serial killer targeting superheroes. Meanwhile, Dr. Manhattan is the only superhuman in the world with the powers of a god. What will happen as he gradually loses touch with humanity?
Watchmen has been hailed for its sumptuous visuals and thought provoking plot. Starring Jackie Earl Haley as the deranged vigilante Rorschach and Billy Crudup as Doctor Manhattan, the high quality acting contributes to the intense script. Viewers don't have to be comic book aficionados to appreciate Watchmen Based on the industry changing graphic novel by Alan Moore, Watchmen is a deconstruction of the world of superheroes. Director Zack Snyder turns an uncompromising eye towards an alternate history in which vigilantes and a super-powered individual have drastically changed the course of the world and not for the better. America won Vietnam and Richard Nixon is looking at his fourth term as president of the United States.

Comments about Watchmen (2 Discs):
Something different. You either love it or hate it.
Superheroes with a darker story underlying it. More a drama than action but in the vein of Sin City with great cinematography.
A gripping story in the era of the Cold War.
For the more mature watcher.

Comments about Watchmen (2 Discs):
This movie is epic, not only for the longtime Watchmen fans, but also for people who haven't read the graphic novel. The soundtrack is really great, it adds to the 80's feeling. It's not just another superhero-action movie, but more of a psychological, and sometimes depressing movie. So I don't think that it's suited for everyone, but it's certainly worth a shot.
The only downside is that it's a really long movie. I don't have a problem with that, but I heard from some other people that they got a bit bored.
