Description
Bernard Ryder (John Travolta) is an overconfident ex-con who takes control of the train departed from Pelham Bay Station at 1:23pm. Taking all the passengers on the train as hostages, he gets in contact with Walter Garber (Denzel Washington), the Metro Transportation Authority officer stuck in the middle of it.
This remake of the 1974 film had to be upgraded after three decades of technological advancement. What you get is a retelling of the hero VS villain story in an intense close-knit atmosphere. It’s not all underground though. In true Tony Scott form, the final act will send cars flying, and bring out the action we’ve seen from Enemy of the State and Déjà Vu. It’s a revisit from a novel that already had a film and TV movie adaptation, but has supercharged it with electrifying energy.

Plot Synopsis
Directed by visionary filmmaker Tony Scott (TRUE ROMANCE, TOP GUN) this remake of the 1974 classic pits heavyweights Denzel Washington and John Travolta against each other. Washington plays a subway dispatcher in New York City who uses all his knowledge to stop the train hijacking by Travolta's Ryder. The film marks the fourth collaboration between Washington and director Scott, the pair having previously worked together on CRIMSON TIDE, MAN ON FIRE and DEJA VU.
