Comments about Yakuza 3 (Playstation 3):
Yakuza is a hard game to explain. I had never played a yakuza game before this one, so I had no idea what to expext.
My best description of this game would be a mixture of open world ( grand theft auto like )and old school double dragon style fighting with a modern edge. The entire game is in Japanese with english subtitles. It's similar to an rpg game in a lot of ways.
You can buy and use all sorts of weapons from swords, bats, knives and assorted guns. All can be upgraded and used in general play.
It is quite a large game with excellent replay value and if you can get past the subtitles and some of the orphanage missions it is quite enjoyable.
The fighting is pretty good with some great upgrades and finishing moves and sometimes you fight masses of enemies at once. There are boss battles and cage matches as well. A good buy if you can get it for under $50

Comments about Yakuza 3 (Playstation 3):
You would have to play Yakuza 1 & 2 to appreciate the storyline and follow the story. A minor knowledge of Japan and social structure and even Yakuza would help. Too much storytelling, not enough gameplay.
